Mumbai civic chief IS Chahal said that house-helps would be allowed to travel and work during the new set of restrictions announced by the Maharashtra Relief and Rehabilitation ministry on Tuesday under a ‘break the chain’ initiative that asked many establishments and non-essential services to close down till May 1
Chahal told PTI that domestic helps or maids will be allowed to travel and go to work during this period.
BMC additional commissioner Suresh Kakani said a fresh set of orders will be issued tomorrow as clarification for the residents of Mumbai.
“We will explain which works or services can remain open during the period. The break the chain restrictions will come into effect from tomorrow 8 pm. We will issue our orders before it,” Kakani said.
Amid the growing cases of Covid-19, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday addressed the state where he announced a set of measures to control the spread of the virus. During his 38 mins address, Thackeray announced curfew-like restrictions on the movement of people in the state from 8 pm on April 14 to May 1.

“We are implementing Section 144 in the state for the next 15 days, starting tomorrow”: announced Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday.
More restrictions in Maharashtra from tomorrow 8 PM, he added.
Calling the growing cases of COVID-19 in the state ‘disastrous, Uddhav Thackeray said that the government is left with no other option but to impose stern rules to control the current situation.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday had hinted at an impending lockdown in the state, which is struggling with an unprecedented rise in coronavirus cases, following an all-party meeting to discuss the crisis.
CM Thackeray had earlier ordered night curfew in the entire Maharashtra from March 28 in view of the unabated rise in COVID-19 cases. The CM had warned of stricter restrictions if people did not observe COVID-19 safety protocol, an official release said.
