Unyielding Surge in Delhi’s Cases

Despite efforts to curb the spread, Delhi continues to witness a consistent rise in daily COVID-19 cases, registering 1,011 new infections on Monday. The city’s positivity rate has surged to 6.42%, underlining the persistent challenges.

Active Cases and Total Infections Surge

Health department data highlights a significant increase in active cases within Delhi, soaring from 601 on April 11 to 4,168 on April 25. The cumulative tally of COVID-19 infections in the national capital stands at 18,75,887, accompanied by a death toll of 26,170.

Balanced Hospitalization Rates and Recovery Landscape

Amidst the case surge, the hospitalization rate remains relatively low, accounting for less than 3% of all active cases. Currently, 90 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment in Delhi’s hospitals, while 3,067 are on the path to recovery at home.

Remarkable Vaccination Drive’s Achievement

India’s COVID-19 vaccination endeavor reaches a significant milestone, surpassing 187.95 Cr (1,87,95,76,423) vaccine doses administered across 2,30,89,167 sessions. The campaign includes coverage for the age group 12-14 years, with over 2.70 Cr (2,70,96,975) adolescents receiving their initial vaccine dose.

Precautionary Measures and Recovery Success

India’s active caseload is currently at 15,636, representing a mere 0.04% of the nation’s total positive cases. The nation’s recovery rate remains commendable at 98.75%. Over the past 24 hours, 1,970 patients have successfully recovered, contributing to a cumulative recovery tally of 4,25,23,311 since the pandemic‘s inception.

Ongoing Testing Endeavors and Positivity Rates

In a continuous commitment to testing, India conducted 4,49,197 COVID-19 tests within the past 24 hours. The nation’s cumulative testing count stands at an impressive 83.54 Cr (83,54,69,014). The weekly positivity rate remains at a reassuring 0.58%, accompanied by a daily positivity rate of 0.55%.
