World Liver Day 2023: In order to raise awareness about the importance of liver health, April 19 is observed as World Liver Day every year. The day also makes people aware of how to maintain a healthy liver. The day holds significance as liver diseases are known to develop silently. As the disease has no visible symptoms, people tend to ignore it.
According to an estimate by World Health Organization (WHO), there has been a 100 per cent increase in the incidence of new liver cancer cases between 1990 to 2017. While two-thirds of them can be attributed to viral hepatitis, 16 per cent have unknown causes.

Also, the fatty liver does not cause any serious issues. But people need to be extra careful as in some cases it can even lead to liver damage.
