Do you have an oily skin type? Are you tired of plenty of products, but nothing seems to be working for you? Your body produces sebum to keep your skin soft and moisturised. When sebum is produced excessively, your skin starts getting oily, leading to acne, whiteheads, blackheads, pimples etc.
Deepak Jain – CEO and founder of Lass Naturals has listed below few steps to take care of your oily skin at home. So, be at ease and try following ideas to get a better skin regime.
-
Cleanse
Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and at night. Choose plant-based ingredients to wash your face, which helps break down the oil without causing dryness.
-
Toner
Toners help in controlling the excess oil and tightening the pores. They also help in keeping the skin moisturised and keeping the germs at bay. You can use a mild toner or natural toner for oily skin. Water-based toner is also good to hydrate and soothe the skin.
-
Moisturise
Just because you have oily skin does not mean that you don’t require to moisturise it. Choose a light moisturiser that will hydrate your skin and make it look naturally beautiful.
-
Exfoliate
Don’t be very harsh on your skin while exfoliating. Use a gentle face wash or scrub once a week to exfoliate your skin. This helps opening the pores and cleaning them thoroughly.
-
Apply sunscreen
Protect your skin from Sun. Always apply sunscreen in a generous amount while you step out in the sun to avoid tanning.
Home remedies
-
Honey
Mix honey and milk in equal amounts, apply it to your skin and let it dry. You can use this remedy daily.
-
Cucumber
Mash half a cucumber and massage it onto your face for about 5 minutes. Wash with cold water.
-
Tomato
Take a medium-sized potato and make its puree. Apply it on your face quickly and wash it after 15 to 20 minutes.
-
Avoid oily food
Avoid consuming a lot of dairy and oily products if you have oily, acne-prone skin. They contribute to producing more oil. Eat nuts like almonds and walnuts; they would help you make your skin healthy.
Skincare can be tricky. However, if you have the proper knowledge, you can achieve it. These were some simple yet effective ways to take care of your skin at home and keep it oil-free.
