Experts have demystified myths around Covid 19 Treatment Protocols amidst the second wave of coronavirus.
COVID-19 management is challenging due to the lack of clear information about the Sars-Cov2 and recommendations for specific treatment regimens. The scale of the pandemic has also worsened the situation, with health care systems under stress from the high volume of COVID-19 patients.
For the benefit of the medical fraternity, patients and families; PFHI President, Professor Srinath Reddy moderated a discussion between Professor Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS and Professor Nicholas Hart, Clinical Director, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London around #COVID19 management protocols.
This discussion seeks to set out the Covid-19 management protocols accepted and recommended by medical experts so that the public is educated regarding the same.
“India’s has also been focusing on prevention, as being the key strategy because unless you are able to prevent the increasing number of cases you will not be able to provide quality health care and the issues like need for beds, need for oxygen will arise. Hence, from the very beginning it has been said that the focus has been on three main things- wear your masks, keep physical distancing and wash your hands. This is something which has been promoted for all lives in our country,” explained Dr. Randeep Guleria Director of AIIMS
India continues to report a sustained slide in the daily new COVID cases. The country has reported 67,208 Daily New Cases in the last 24 hours. Less than 1 lakh Daily New Cases have been reported for 10 continuous days now. This is a result of sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.
India has also been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload. The country’s Active Caseload today stands at 8,26,740. This is lowest decline in active cases after 71 days.
A net decline of 38,692is witnessed in the last 24 hours and active cases are now only 2.78% of the country’s total Positive Cases.
