Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia felicitated over 24 hospitals and 82 public health centers with the prestigious Kaya kalp State Awards for their exceptional service to patients and dedication to maintaining hygiene standards. The awards, which aim to promote cleanliness, hygiene, waste management, and infection control practices, were presented as a means to incentivize and acknowledge the exemplary performance of healthcare facilities.
Recognizing Healthcare Excellence: Delhi Government Awards Hospitals and Health Centres for Exceptional Service
In a category recognizing district hospitals with 100 to 150 beds, Acharya Shree Bhikshu Government Hospital claimed the top prize, receiving a cash reward of Rs 15 lakh. The first and second runners-up, Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital and Maharshi Valmiki Hospital, were each awarded Rs 7.5 lakh. Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital secured the first prize in the category of district hospitals with 250 to 500 beds, receiving a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh. Meanwhile, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital emerged as the winner in the category of district hospitals with more than 500 beds, earning a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hospital received the first prize in the sub-divisional hospital category, along with a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh.
During the award ceremony, a total of 24 hospitals and 82 primary health care centers (PHCs) were recognized for their adherence to cleanliness protocols and their provision of quality healthcare services to patients.

Highlighting the significance of a clean hospital environment and quality services in facilitating patient recovery, Manish Sisodia, who also oversees the health portfolio, emphasized the need for a change in attitude and a new outlook among staff members. He expressed the government’s commitment to strengthening and optimizing the quality and outcomes of healthcare facilities, in addition to expanding their reach.

Sisodia commended the outstanding work and quality assurance provided by Delhi government hospitals, which has garnered increased trust from people across the country. He urged hospital staff to move beyond the traditional image of government hospitals and embrace a new perspective that aligns with present-day requirements.
Thirteen hospitals received Commendation Awards for scoring above 70 percent, while six super-specialty hospitals achieved scores above 70 percent.
