Prolonged COVID-19 Infections in Immunocompromised Patients: New Research Reveals Alarming Findings

Over 187.67 Crore COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

India’s relentless efforts in combating the COVID-19 pandemic have led to a significant milestone. The nation has successfully administered over 187.67 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses through more than 2.3 lakh sessions, marking a remarkable step forward in the fight against the virus.

Expanding Protection: Adolescents and Precautionary Doses

India’s vaccination drive has been extended to include the age group of 12-14 years since March 16, 2022. Impressively, over 2.65 crore adolescents in this age group have received their initial COVID-19 vaccine dose. Additionally, precautionary doses targeting individuals aged 18-59 began on April 10, 2022, with 3,87,719 doses administered.

Effective Active Case Management and Control

India’s proactive measures to manage active COVID-19 cases have yielded promising results. The current active caseload stands at 15,873 cases, which account for only 0.04% of the total positive cases in the country. This demonstrates the effectiveness of strategies aimed at curbing the virus’s spread.

Subheadline 4: Robust Recovery Rates and Ongoing Progress

India continues to exhibit a robust recovery rate of 98.75%. In the last 24 hours, 1,755 patients have successfully recovered from COVID-19, contributing to a cumulative tally of 4,25,19,479 recovered patients since the pandemic’s onset.

Persistent Testing and Low Positivity Rates

Efforts to monitor and mitigate the spread of the virus remain steadfast, with 4,36,532 COVID-19 tests conducted within the last 24 hours. India’s cumulative testing count has surpassed an impressive 83.47 crore (83,47,17,702). The weekly positivity rate stands at a reassuring 0.54%, complemented by a daily positivity rate of 0.59%.
