The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has announced that approximately 10,000 individuals are anticipated to pledge their commitment to organ donation on September 16. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya will lead this pledge at the GIC Ground in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, in accordance with the Ministry’s official statement.
Organ donation helps save and transform numerous lives
Mandaviya had previously emphasized the government’s dedication, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to introduce additional policies and reforms aimed at promoting organ donation. He highlighted the noble act of organ donation, emphasizing its potential to save and transform numerous lives.
Furthermore, the Ministry disclosed that during the event, the Minister will also lay the foundation stone for 23 Integrated Public Health Labs and 87 Block Public Health Units in Agra. Additionally, he will inaugurate a super specialty block at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, and an organ donation registry.

The Ministry’s statement indicated, “Following this, there will be a ‘Seva Pakhwada’ (Service Fortnight) dedicated to ensuring the widespread availability of essential health services. This initiative will run from September 17 (coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra’s birthday) to October 2. The ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign, inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on September 13, which seeks to revolutionize healthcare accessibility and inclusivity across the nation, will be implemented during the ‘Seva Pakhwada,’ reflecting a comprehensive, nationwide approach involving all segments of society.”
The primary goal of the Sewa Pakhwada is to extend comprehensive healthcare coverage to every village and town, transcending geographical barriers and ensuring that no one is left without access to healthcare services.
