An unfortunate incident took place in Qatar, where a three-week-old baby has died from coronavirus, this second child death case that took place due to an infection in the country.
According to the initial reports, the baby had no other known medical or hereditary circumstances. The ministry of public health of Qatar in a statement said that this was the second child in the country to have died from COVID-19 amid the pandemic.
The authorities said in the statement, “This is a stark reminder that people of all ages are at risk of being infected by Covid-19.” While coronavirus have been generally seen to be mild in children, it has contributed to rare newborn deaths around the globe.
The health officials said that during Qatar’s current wave of coronavirus, a greater number of children were being infected and requiring medical care. “This is not because Omicron is more severe for children than previous variants; it is because Omicron is more contagious and infecting higher numbers of people,” said the statement.
The world is continued to be affected by this deadly virus which has also not spared children and babies.

According to the experts, breathing issues or shortness of breath are more likely to be seen in adults. Children can have pneumonia, with or without obvious symptoms. They can also experience sore throat, excessive fatigue, or diarrhea. Children below the age of five years are at risk of getting infected with the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 and therefore it is important to look out for all possible symptoms that might appear in them. It has already been reported that fever, cough, core throat, and throat pain are some very common symptoms among children. Fever, runny nose, body ache, and dry cough are some other very common symptoms.
