93-Year-Old Padma Shri Awardee Pt. Anand Mohan Zutshi ‘Gulzar’ Dehlvi has become a source of inspiration for those suffering from deadly coronavirus as he beat the deadly disease in just 8 days. The noted poet and litterateur was discharged on Sunday after his report came negative.

District Magistrate of Gautam Budha Nagar Suhas LY said he is an inspiration to many like him. “This 94-year resident turned COVID negative and was discharged today. He is an inspiration to many like me. Sir, you motivate us to work even harder, we all residents wish you a very long and healthy life,” he said in a tweet.

Dehlvi was admitted to a private hospital in Noida with a breathing problem. On June 1, he was referred to Sharda Hospital in Greater Noida after he was tested positive for coronavirus. His condition deteriorated as he could not breathe properly. He was shifted to ICU and a special team was formed under the leadership of Dr. Abhishek Deshwal.

But he recovered soon and was shifted to normal ward of isolation for three days. Hospital spokesman Dr. Ajit Kumar said that Dehlvi ‘s report came negative on Saturday night and he was discharged on Sunday.

Dehlvi thanked the staff before being discharged and said that he would invite everyone over dinner at his home once he is completely healthy. He also said that the medical staff of the hospital has given him a given new life.
