Apollo Hospital’s ENT specialist, Dr Vinaya Kumar, bestowed with the ‘GHCEH Award -2019 in the US.

New Delhi: Dr. E.C.Vinaya Kumar, Head, Department of ENT and Cochlear Implant Clinic, Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad has been presented the prestigious Global Health Care Equality Humanitarian Award -2019, by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), USA at the recently held AAPI Symposium on Global Health care Equality at Kansas, USA. Dr Kumar is also the founder of Society to Aid the Hearing Impaired (SAHI).

The award was presented to Dr Vinaya Kumar by Dr Seema Arora, Chair of AAPI Board of Trustees and Dr Suresh Reddy, President & CEO, AAPI; Executive committee of AAPI, Kansas City chapter, AAPI, among others, in recognition of his yeomen services in the mission to make Deaf Free Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The award ceremony was attended in large numbers by physicians of Indian Origin.

The Global Health care Equality Humanitarian award, instituted by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), USA, is given to the Indian origin doctors working in India or abroad for their contribution towards improving the Indian healthcare standards on par with the international standards and for bringing quality treatment within the reach of needy people.

Dr Kumar’s work in the field of ENT, Cochlear implants, his efforts in creating awareness about hearing problems, techniques for prevention of hearing loss and selfless professional services, self financial contribution and funding through SAHI helped many children and adults with ear and hearing problems. His efforts made every poor child with severe to profound hearing loss in both the Telugu states and in India getting free cochlear implant surgery and speech therapy.
