Authorities are trying to curb the mosquito menace and the administration has decided to intensify the fogging and spraying of anti-larvae medicine. The Health Department has also asked societies to get swimming pools cleaned as soon as possible. The department has said that hefty fines will be imposed in cases societies fail to do so.

With the consistent rise in mercury, which has been above 18 degree Celsius for the last few days, the risk of vector-borne diseases has also increased.

Considering the surge in cases, all private hospitals have been asked to share information with the Health Department immediately upon arrival of suspected dengue patients.
