Healthcare was one of the focus areas of the FM’s interim budget. The government will encourage vaccination for girls in the age group of 9 to 14 years for the prevention of cervical cancer. Various maternal and childcare schemes are to be brought under one comprehensive programme for synergy. There is also a focus on improved nutrition delivery, early childhood care and development. Extending healthcare coverage under Ayushman Bharat to ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and helpers will improve their healthcare accessibility. The plans to set up more medical colleges by utilizing existing hospital infrastructure will also go a long way in boosting healthcare.
