At least 6610 people have died due to deadly coronavirus outbreak across the globe, the World Health Organisation (WHO) figure said.
At least 168,019 positive cases of this epidemic were reported so far globally.
In China, there were 21 new confirmed cases. Of those, 20 of them were attributed to travelers from overseas, as per China’s National Health Commission.
The total number of cases in China stood at 80,881, of which 68,679 were cured and 3,226 people died.
In the US, The White House has advised people not to gather in groups of more than 10, as US classes crossed 4400, with at least 86 fatalities.
The European Commission will introduce temporary restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU.
Germany, Spain, France, Russia and Hungary have closed or will close their land borders, while some 47 million Spanish residents have been banned from leaving their homes.
Restrictions on public life have been imposed in countries including France and Germany.
The UK has urged people to stop all non-essential contact with others and stop all unnecessary travel.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said late Monday that the country will close its borders to travelers, shut schools and most businesses till March 31.
In response to several cases of the virus imported to the city, Hong Kong will require all arriving travelers from foreign countries to be quarantined for 14 days at home.
