In recent times the cases of coronavirus are on a decline but the outbreak of this deadly virus which took the life of lakhs of people has not been completely prevented. But on the other hand, with the end of the third wave of COVID-19, Omicron the fastest spreading variant of the corona so far has started preparing for the fourth wave. Amid the spread of Omicron across the world, it is being said that it is creating a havoc situation in some countries of Europe and Asia by coming in a new form.

Though Omicron has now started seeing a decline some of its subvariants are coming out, which has become the dominant reason for the rising new cases in many countries. It has been reported that a new variant of Omicron BA.2 has been discovered, which has been dubbed ‘BA 2.2’. This is a problem in many Asian countries.

BA 2.2, according to researchers and experts tracking new Kovid variants around the world, is a faster spreading and growing variant than all other variants of the corona virus. The variant is said to have sparked an outbreak in England, resulting in an increase in new cases and an increase in the number of patients in hospitals.

The new subvariant of Omicron ba.2 is said to be rapidly spreading in many countries, including England. According to reports, there is also devastation in Hong Kong. Health officials in this country have reported a significant increase in Covid infections and deaths.

BA 2.2 has entered India

It is being reported that BA 2.2 variant has also reached India now through the Indian SARS-Co-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG). So far three cases have been found in Maharashtra, Puducherry and Ladakh.

Cases are being found in many countries of Asia, who are at higher risk of BA 2.2

Experts monitoring BA 2.2 cases in Hong Kong have determined that the elderly are the most vulnerable. People who have not been immunised are also at risk. Experts believe that this new variant was born in the United Kingdom because B.A. 1 (BA.1) would not have provided the required strong immunity to the local population.
