Delhi’s Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital Suspends Non-COVID Services Amid Rise In Cases

In view of the increase of Covid-19 patients, Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Delhi has decided to suspend all the non-Covid-19 services with immediate effect till further orders.

In the hospital, regular OPD services and other facilities were started in January but due to increasing cases of coronavirus cases, the hospital has been dedicated once again to the COVID-19 treatment.

Issuing a statement, the hospital said that all the non-Covid services provided at Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital have been postponed with immediate effect till further orders.

As a COVID-19 dedicated hospital, only Covid-19 patients will be treated at the hospital and for this, 500 beds have been reserved.

A vaccine officer at the hospital tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday that led to chaos and delay in the vaccination process at the building. This particular hospital sees the maximum rush of vaccine beneficiaries coming to get the jab every day.

India on Thursday reported more than 126,000 fresh coronavirus disease (Covid-19) infections in a single day, which took the active cases tally to nearly a million — 910,319, according to the Union health ministry. More than 9.40 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered till Thursday, the 83rd day of vaccination. Many states have appealed to the Centre for additional vaccine supply citing shortage.
