Dr. Mandaviya and Shri Sarbananda Sonowal jointly launched the Comprehensive Ayush Health Management System (AHMIS) and Education Learning Management System (eLMS)

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, delivered the opening speech at the National AYUSH Mission Conclave, organized by the Ministry of AYUSH. During the event, the launch of two Information and Communication Technology initiatives, AHMIS (Ayush Health Management Information System) and eLMS (Education Learning Management System), took place, with Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union AYUSH Minister, inaugurating them. Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, the Minister of State, AYUSH, was also present at the ceremony.

Several State Health Ministers attended the meeting, including Shri Daya Shanker Mishra (Uttar Pradesh), Dr. R. Lalthangliana (Mizoram), Shri Alo-libang (Arunachal Pradesh), Shri Keshab Mahanta (Assam), Shri S Pangnyu Phom (Nagaland), and Shri Banna Gupta (Jharkhand).

This policy aims to bring benefits not only to the nation but also to the global community.

Dr. Mandaviya praised the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which aims to integrate healthcare services in the country by combining the capacities and resources of both traditional and modern medicine. He emphasized that India is strengthening its healthcare services and striving for an Integrated Health Policy that will not only benefit the nation but also serve the world.

Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the collaboration between modern and traditional medicine, aiming to establish multiple systems of medicine on a single platform, enabling cross-referrals and true integration. He emphasized the importance of integrating Ayush into mainstream public healthcare delivery, as it offers a comprehensive and holistic approach to patient care, combining the strengths of conventional medicine and Ayush systems.

India as a global leader in traditional medicine

Addressing the significance of India’s heritage of Ayurveda and traditional principles, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that traditional medicine advocates a holistic perspective on health with a focus on wellness. He acknowledged the success of initiatives such as ‘Heal by India’ and ‘Heal in India,’ which have attracted patients from around the world to India for treatment. He also mentioned the establishment of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujarat, positioning India as a global leader in traditional medicine.

The Union Ayush Minister expressed gratitude to Dr. Mandaviya for his support in advancing Integrative Medicine. He explained that The Ministry of Ayush, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, envisions integrating the potential of Ayush within a diverse system of integrative healthcare. He highlighted the support provided by the National Ayush Mission (NAM) in co-locating Ayush facilities in primary health centers, community health centers, and district hospitals. Furthermore, he mentioned upcoming plans for integrated Ayush hospitals and new Ayush dispensaries to ensure easy accessibility and affordability of Ayush services for the general population.

The event was attended by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, an advisor to the Lt. Governor of J&K, and other senior government officials.
