A leading private sector medical service provider Fortis Healthcare has handed over a cheque of Rs. 2.5 crore to the ICMR today in the presence of Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, The Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare.
The occasion took place in the presence of Shri Ashwini Choubey, when the MD and CEO of Fortis Healthcare Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi along with a senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and CSR, Manu Kapila and SRL’s CEO Anand Kumar handed over the cheque to the Director General Prof (DR) Balram Bhargav and senior financial advisor Rajiv Roy of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Shri Ashwini Choubey praised the Fortis Hospital by saying that, they have done a commendable job and this step might inspire many.
He added, “the ICMR has established an outstanding parameter in the field of research not only in India, but has also been instituted as one of the best research institutes in the world. Since the first day of Covid-19 pandemic, the scientists are working tirelessly day and night”
ICMR is successfully conducting tests all over the country and is trying to increase the number of test in the states with the highest cases.
As on September 25th, 13,41,535 number of samples were tested and a cumulative of 7,02,69,975 samples have been tested across the country till now, said the Indian Council of Medical Research on Friday.
