In a shocking incident, a Delhi resident lost her father to COVID-19 after a government-run hospital refused to admit him. According to Amarpreet, her father was having high fever and had to be shifted from Gangaram to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital.
“My dad is having high fever. We need to shift him to hospital. I am standing outside LNJP Delhi & they are not taking him in. He is having corona, high fever and breathing problem. He won’t survive without help. Pls help (sic),” Amarpreet wrote on Twitter today morning at 8 am.

Amarpreet tagged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and AAP lawmaker Dilip Pandey in her tweet so that she can get some immediate help from the government.
The Delhi resident even shared an audio file stating that LNJP Hospital refused to admit her father without referral and she was made to run to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for the same.
However, an hour later her father passed away while waiting for treatment outside the hospital – which comes under the administration of the Delhi government.
“He is no more. The govt failed us,” she wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The tweet has gone viral with around 6K retweets and Twitterati are slamming Arvind Kejriwal for the failed governance.
“I’m so sorry to hear this. Indeed, Delihites are paying the price of the failed governance,” a Twitter user said.
“Sorry for your loss which unrecoverable!! @ArvindKejriwal @AamAadmiParty, how many more? We can’t control corona but #delhi will show you your real place soon..,” wrote another user.
This is happening when the Delhi government maintains that there are 2,000 beds reserved for COVID-19 patients and 1,129 were vacant when the incident took place.
Earlier, Amarpreet had sought help from the Delhi government in the matter. She had alleged that the Delhi government coronavirus helpline numbers were not responding.
“#covid patient suffering no Covid #helpline numbers are responding,” she had tweeted.
