Green Corridor For Liver Transplant At Jaypee Hospital

Organ donation is a noble act that saves millions of lives worldwide. One such act may save the life of a 36-year-old patient from Ludhiana (Punjab) who is suffering from NASH-chronic liver disease and need an immediate liver transplant. 30 years old donor was declared brain dead and after the consent of the family, NOTTO was informed that a liver is available for organ donation.

Dr. K R Vasudevan, Director, Department of Liver Transplant and Dr. Punit Singla, Associate Director, Department of Liver Transplant & Surgical Gastroenterology, Jaypee Hospital and the team together have put forward commendable efforts which were made above the line of duty to give a new lease of hope to the recipient and the family.

Dr. Punit Singla said, “I immediately liaised with the consultants at the hospital where the liver was available. After some discussions, I was able to secure the organ for Jaypee Hospital (Noida). All the arrangements were made on priority basis and a green corridor was created to retrieve the organ”
