The number of COVID-19 cases is on the rise in the third wave. But the only solace is that there is fewer hospitalization this time. However, post-COVID complication still haunts people even after weeks of recovering from the disease. This has extended the ordeal of many people. Apart from health-related issues like fatigue, joint pain, cough, concentration problems, headache, lack of concentration, post-covid hair loss is one of the most COVID-19 problems in several patients. This kind of hair loss is called telogen effluvium. This usually happens after one to two months or so after COVID-19 recovery. It can be quite extreme and sometimes people lose hair in bunches while washing or combing them.
This can be really difficult for patients as it may continue for a long time. The hair fall happens because of the extreme stress that COVID-19 causes on the body. The body takes longer to recover from the infection and all the medication taken during this period also have certain side effects on the body.
According to experts, 90 per cent of the hair fall post-recovery is due to a condition called Telogen Effluvium. The good news is that the is a temporary phase and the loss is reversible. This means that the hair will grow back but it will certainly take some time to return to normal.
Experts suggest that a good level of iron can help you recover from this condition. Iron is important for building red blood cells and hence iron intake should be proper. There are some natural tips as per Charaka Samhita to improve the iron level.
Tips to boost iron level naturally:
