Gurugram,[10th November, 2023] — In a ground-breaking initiative orchestrated under the guidance of Dr. Ankur Garg, Head of the Department and Senior Consultant in the Department of Digestive & Liver Diseases, Liver Transplant at Sanar International Hospitals, Golf Course Road, Gurugram, a 62-year-old female, declared brain dead due to a brain haemorrhage, became the catalyst for the formation of a life-saving Green Corridor. The donor was admitted to BLK Hospital, New Delhi, while the 46-year-old male recipient awaited the critical transplant at Sanar International Hospitals, Golf Course Road, Gurugram.
The meticulously planned Green Corridor, under the vigilant coordination of authorities including DCP Traffic Gurugram and his team, along with ACP Special Cell New Delhi, DCP Traffic Delhi and the Delhi Traffic Control Room, facilitated the swift and seamless transportation of the donated liver. Starting from BLK, New Delhi, the corridor navigated through key routes such as Bande Matram, Dhaula Kuan, NH 48 (Delhi-Jaipur Highway), Ambience Mall Gurugram, Sikanderpur, and Golf Course Road, culminating at Sanar International Hospitals, Golf Course Road, Gurugram. Departing at 1:40 PM from New Delhi, and navigating the Green Corridor across the Delhi – Gurgaon stretch of 28 Kilometres, the donated liver eventually reached its destination by 2:20 PM, with the collaborative effort of the medical staff and Traffic Authorities.
