As India entered its 75th year of independence, the Board of a Homeopathic System of Medicine celebrated ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. With this, the board celebrated 225 years of homeopathy. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain attended the celebrations on Monday and said that Homeopathy is doing a great job and is healing people without any side effects. Delhi Government’s Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurvedic Charak Sansthan, Nehru Homeopathic Hospital & Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College and Hospital did an excellent job during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Satyendar Jain said, “In the AYUSH system of medicine, Homeopathy is doing a great job and is healing people without any side-effects. Doctors should be calm, polite and compassionate in their behaviour. This can lead to the healing of most of the patients that come to them. Doctors should work on building faith in patients. We should raise a war against diseases by using laughter and confidence as weapons. During the Covid-19 pandemic, three AYUSH hospitals treated corona patients – Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurvedic Charak Sansthan, Nehru Homeopathic Hospital and Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College and Hospital. These hospitals showed excellent results in treating the Covid patients. This has happened not only by the treatment but also by the healing environment they were in, which helped in increasing the patient’s satisfaction rate.”
He further said, “Prevention of diseases is better than cure. Health is something that we can protect. The almighty has made everyone healthy, it’s our actions that lead to unhealthiness. Most of our focus remains on illness whereas it should be on wellness. A doctor should not only be consulted after contracting a disease but also when a person is healthy. The doctors of the AYUSH system of medicine can do this task very firmly. In this system, a healthy person can consult a doctor. It should not be a norm to visit a doctor only after we fall ill.”
On this occasion, Health Minister Satyendar Jain honoured the homeopathic doctors of Delhi by giving mementos to them. It was announced by the board that it would organize free homeopathic medical camps, tree plantation, seminars and other activities to promote the homeopathic System of Medicine, which will run till next year.
