#HospitalsAreSafe: How Manipal Hospitals Has Been Able To Continue Its Routine Health Care Services For Non Covid Patients

Lockdown and social distancing have changed many things. Working from home has become the new norm. We seem to have learnt how to cope with this extended period of social isolation.

However, for people with pre-diagnosed health problems, especially cardiovascular problems, getting used to the lockdown has not been easy. They are worried about many things. Majority of them were unsure whether they would be able to get emergency in the midst of the lockdown.

As India battled the Covid-19 crisis, Manipal Hospitals has never deferred its emergency services for non-Covid patients.

It has taken a zero-tolerance approach towards coronavirus infection inside its premises.

Even during the pandemic, Manipal Hospitals used to run two hours of OPD. It has put in place proper protocol to take care of patients.

“We will be able to take care of any emergency and non-emergency cardiac cases in the midst of the pandemic”, says Dr Ranjan Shetty, HOD and Consultant, Interventional Cardiology, Manipal Hospital, Bengaluru.
