India’s leading Pharma Company in the oral healthcare segment – ICPA Health Products Ltd (ICPA) hosted its latest interactive online session led by guest speaker Dr Neeraj Rohida, MDS (Orthodontics) on how Simulations Accelerate Patient Conversions and Enhances Practice. The 15th episode of the Clinical Series promoted the practice of offering patients simulations to instill confidence and induce urgency for opting into the required dental treatment. Dr Rohida shared his expertise in digital simulations and its impact in decision making and case acceptance amongst patients. He also introduced to the participants information on 2-D design and lab communication, and presented an overview of digital and analogue smile design workflow. Dr Rohida also presented a live demo on creating simulations using DTS PRO to present treatment plans to patients.

In today’s digital era, before saying yes to a particular treatment procedure, patients like to pre-visualize the end results. They want to know how their smile and appearance will change if they undergo the treatment suggested by the dentist. Digital Simulations are by far the simplest, quickest, and most efficient tools for patient motivation and greater case acceptance. Simulations and digital treatment planning can also significantly improve the level of communication between the patient, dentist, and the dental lab for consistent, precise treatment outcomes. He presented the process of converting 2D smile designs into 3D mock-ups and explained the complete 2D to 3D smile design workflow.
