Indian has crossed the historic milestone of administering 100 crore (1 billion) doses of the coronavirus vaccine to its citizens. Mansukh Mandaviya the Union Health Minister took to Twitter to congratulate the country on the occasion. Mandaviya credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the feat.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed gratitude to doctors, nurses and all those who worked on crossing 100 crore vaccinations.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;

Mandaviya to celebrate the occasion will launch a song by singer Kailash Kher.
The largest khadi tricolour in the country, weighing around 1,400 kg and with dimensions 225 feet by 150 feet, will be displayed at the Red Fort today.
India had launched its COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 16, 2021. The first phase of the vaccination drive covered healthcare workers. The drive was expanded to include persons above 60 years of age and those above 45 years with specified 20 comorbidities on March 1. All persons above the age of 18 were made eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination from May 1.
India has reported over 3.41 crore COVID-19 cases and more than 452,000 deaths.
