India has reached 78,64,811 coronavirus cases so far with 50,129 new infections. In the last 24 hours, 578 deaths have been counted and the total number of deaths has reached 1,18,534. 62,077 patients have recovered from the infection in the country in the last 24 hours.
With 70,78,123 people in the country has recovered since the beginning of the pandemic, the overall recovery rate of 89.9 percent in India.
India is the second worst-hit country in the world by the pandemic after the United States. The country first reported the covid-19 case on January 30.
Since October 25 the number of coronavirus cases has seen a daily dip and reported 50,129 cases in comparison to 55,772 a week ago.
The Union health ministry said on Saturday that about 61 percent of the total recovered cases from COVID-19 are from six states and UTs of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi.

According to the Delhi government, the national capital on Saturday recorded 4,116 fresh COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike in 35 days, while the death count from the disease mounted to 6,225. This is the second consecutive day when over 4,000 cases were recorded in the city.

According to WHO, the global figure now stands at over 4.12 crore cases and over 11.3 lakh deaths.
The US remains the worst-hit country hit by far by the health crisis gripping the world, with over 2.23 lakh deaths.
