India Sees Rise In Fresh Covid-19 Cases, Daily Deaths Still Exceed 4,000

India recorded over 2,08,921 lakh new covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending 8 am Wednesday, taking the country’s total infections to over 2,71,57,795 crore. The daily surge in new cases has fallen below 3 lakh after a month. Out of these, over 24 lakh are active cases while over 2.40 crore people have recovered after testing positive. With 4,157 news deaths, the toll is now at 3,11,388.

India’s death toll crossed 3 lakh mark on Monday this week, with nearly 50 per cent of mortalities recorded so far after the second wave has hit the country. In the seven weeks over 1.4 lakh deaths have been reported after March. With this, the country now accounts for 16% of the global confirmed cases, and 9% of global deaths.

The total active caseload of the Country declines to 24,95,591 with a decrease of 91,191 in Active Cases in last 24 hours. The declining trend in new cases is maintained at 2.08 lakh cases. However, the total recoveries across the country stands at 2,43,50,816 so far, along with 2,95,955 patients recovered during last 24 hours.

Recoveries continue to outnumber the Daily New Cases for the 13th consecutive day and the recovery rate increases to 89.66%. While the weekly positivity rate currently stands at 11.45%. The daily positivity rate stands at 9.42% that is less than 10% for 2 consecutive days.

Meanwhile, the country’s total coronavirus tally has increased to 2,71,57,795 crore after 2,08,921 positive cases were detected in the 24-hours. However, 295955 recoveries we recorded and the recovery rate, while active cases are at 295955, 91191 down from the previous bulletin.

The Ministry of health’s vaccination dashboard showed that more than 20 Cr. doses were administered so far with about 20,39,087 doses administered in the last 24 hours. The test is recorded which is the highest ever 22.17 lakh tests conducted in a single day.
