We’ve seen a lot of odd stuff in the past year, but nothing as bizarre as someone booking a whole flight for themselves to shield himself during your journey from COVID-19. Richard Muljadi, a socialist based in Jakarta had recently booked an entire flight to Bali to prevent Covid exposure.
In a series of stories published yesterday on Instagram, Richard said that he and his wife, Shalvynne Chang, were both “super-paranoic” when it came to COVID-19.
“He had to make sure that no one else was on this flight. We’re not flying unless it’s just us,” Richard wrote.
He went to Instagram on 4 January to share a picture of himself on an empty flight. He said, “After I booked as many seats as possible, it was still cheaper than chartering a PJ. That’s the trick fellas.
Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Lion Air Group’s spokesman, told Detik that Richard was on board the ID-6502 flight of Batik Air flight yesterday afternoon from Jakarta to Denpasar.
The flight will handle 12 business class and 150 economy class passengers, according to sources. The estimated expenditure he should have made for the entire flight was between IDR 75-110 million (USD 5,383-7,895).
Although it has yet to be verified, Richard was simply providing facts about his Instagram posts, as the 32-year-old is known for his extravagant spending patterns, which he also used to parade on social media. This involves the one-time purchase of his dog.
Richard is the grandson of Kartini Muljadi, a magnate pharmaceutical artist.(she is #42 in Forbes’ 2020 list of 50 richest Indonesians and worth US$620 million net). In 2018, after his detention, he made national headlines, when he was coincidentally found in the restaurant bathroom in Jakarta Pacific Place by a police officer sniffing cocaine.
