International Childhood Cancer Day is organized globally every year on 15 February. It is a global collaborative effort that is done to raise awareness regarding cancer in childhood, its challenges and solutions to improve care.
On 15 February 2024, an event was organized this event the Post Graduate Institute of Child Health Noida, to celebrate the success of survivors who have emerged as winners after defeating this difficulty disease. The program was attended by more than 100 children with cancers and their parents.
Smt. Sangeeta Singh, IAS, CEO SACHIS, Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, was the Chief Guest for the event. Smt. Singh highlighted the services available through PMJAY and utilization of these in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Prof AK Singh, Director of PGICH, welcomed all the dignitaries and thanked the government and all donors who have helped in treating these children.
A calendar made with drawings by children while undergoing cancer treatment was released on the occasion. Children who have survived cancer shared their stories and performed dance, ramp walk and songs.
Dr Nita Radhakrishnan and Dr Archit Pandharipande thanked all the dignitaries and the donors who had joined for the cause of children with cancer in the institute.
