International Day of Yoga 2024: PM Modi Celebrates The Occasion In Srinagar
This year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating the event in Srinagar. However, rain disrupted the Yoga Day event scheduled on the banks of Dal Lake in Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was supposed to perform yoga for the 10th International Yoga Day. Later, he was seen performing yoga at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. This marks his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since starting his third consecutive term in office.
This year’s celebration theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasises yoga’s impact on personal well-being and community health. The event in Srinagar aims to boost grassroots participation and promote yoga in rural areas.
Benefits of Doing Yoga Regularly
Yoga, a timeless practice with diverse origins, has taken the world by storm. People worldwide are discovering its various perks which influence both the body and mind. Considering making yoga a regular part of your day? Let us explore why that could be a life-enhancing decision.
Increased Flexibility
The benefits of yoga begin with increased flexibility. The routine poses and stretches involved gradually give the body a boost in its range of motion. This not only eases daily movements but significantly reduces the probability of injuries. With persistent practice, you’ll find your muscles and joints becoming more supple.
Supports Muscles Strength
Contrary to what some might think, yoga isn’t all about bending and stretching. It’s also a muscle-strengthening activity. Various poses in yoga focus on engaging different muscle groups, fostering muscle tone and strength. Stick with yoga and you’ll see your overall physical strength ameliorate, along with improved posture.
Helps Manage Stress
In our modern society where stress is part and parcel of life, yoga provides a haven for relaxation. The compilation of meditative movements, deep-breathing exercises, and mindful practices help pacify the mind, bringing your stress levels down and fostering tranquility.
