New Delhi: Amid deadly Coronavirus outbreak in China, Himachal Pradesh Health and Family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar said that the government is fully cognizant of the threat of coronavirus and preparations have been made in this regard.
In an exclusive talk with The Healthwire, Parmar said that all hospitals have been alerted in sync with the central government’s directions and guidelines.
“The state government is fully prepared to deal with this menace. We are keeping a close tab on 3 airports, including Kangra, Bhantur and Shimla and the passengers coming from China are being monitored closely,” Parmar said.
He also said awareness campaigns have been launched to make people know about this virus. “In medical colleges we have directed to set up isolation wards,” the minister added.
Parmar also appealed from the public that if anyone is suffering from cough and cold, take them to hospital immediately.
On being asked about how the government is creating awareness, he said posters are being pasted on walls. ASHA workers have been involved. “We are also using social media to make people know about it.”
