“Inauguration of Indian College of Radiological Technology: Advancing Radiological Research and Education in New Delhi”

Indian College of Radiological Technology, an academic subsidiary of the Indian Society of Radiographers & Technologists was launched in New Delhi. A college of professionals to promote the research & development activities and faculty development programs in radiological technology was launched by Dr. Napapong Pongnapong, Asia – Australasia Vice President of International Society of Radiographers & Radiological Technologists in a function held in Hotel Holiday Inn, Aerocity, New Delhi. Dr. A. U. Sonawane, Secretary, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Government of India delivered the keynote address.

“Launch of Pioneering Indian College of Radiological Technology: Setting a Milestone for Allied and Healthcare Professionals”

The College is the first of its kind in India among all Allied and Healthcare Professionals in India, emulating the activities of the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Radiologists in the United Kingdom, which are reputed for Membership and Fellowship Programs across the globe. The inaugural function was presided over by Mr. A. Selva Kumar, Radiotherapy Manager, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital and President of ISRT. Prof. S. Panneer Selvam, Dr. SC Bansal, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma (Pro-Vice Chairman of Sushanth University, Gurgaon ), Mr. Mohan Lal Bhagwat Spoke. Mr. Suresh Malayyath, General Secretary of organization welcomed the delegates and Ms. Shilpa Singh, Organizing Secretary offered vote of thanks.

“Envisioning the Future: Fellowship, Membership, and Workshops in Radiological Technology at the New College”

The College is looking forward to start fellowship and membership programs in Radiological Technology and to conduct hands on workshops to practising professionals and students on various newer modalities in Radiology in future. Dr. SC Bansal, Retd Asst Professor in PGIMER, Chandigarh was elected as Registrar of the College of Radiolological Technologists and Mr. Rajeev Krishnan is the National Program Co Ordinator.

“Pioneering Indian Society: Radiographers and Technologists Shaping Healthcare Regulation and Education”

Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists is the apex National Professional Body of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists of Indian Origin working across the globe. The Professional body was instrumental in shaping the NCAHP ACT – 2021 in its present form, passed by the Indian Parliament to constitute the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions in India to regulate professional education and practice of Allied Health Science in India in the line of newly formed National Medical Commission, which was replaced by Medical Council of India. The inaugural program was enriched by Academic Presentations and Panel Discussions on various topics.

Faculties from various teaching institutions and radiology managers, cheif radiographers, departments in charge, etc from various hospitals across India attended the event.
