Guidelines for Home Isolation
According to the Union Health Ministry’s guidelines for home isolation, Coronavirus patients with upper respiratory tract symptoms like sore throat and persistent cough, and oxygen saturation of more than 94 per cent can choose home isolation.
The guidelines further said, symptomatic management for fever, running nose and cough, and warm-water gargles or steam inhalation twice a day are some of the treatment protocols for patients in home isolation.
Medical attention must be looked for if the patient develops difficulty in breathing or there is a dip in oxygen saturation (SpO2 less than 94 per cent on room air) or if the pain or pressure persists in the chest for long. There are also other things that you should keep in mind like mental confusion or inability to arouse from deep sleep, the guideline recommended.
