Medanta Enhances Accessibility To Vaccination Amidst Second Wave Of COVID-19; Launches Vaccination Center At Defence Colony Club

Enhancing access to the COVID-19 vaccine, Medanta launched a COVID vaccination center at the Defence Colony Club, New Delhi today. The center was inaugurated by Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, in the presence of Pankaj Sahni, CEO, Medanta.

The walk-in vaccination center will cater to all citizens above 45 years of age. To get vaccinated, citizens can either register themselves on the CoWIN portal, or Medanta website, or walk-in directly to the facility.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, Medanta said, “Scaling up vaccination is the most effective way to combat COVID-19. Nearly 70% of the population in India needs to get vaccinated for us to achieve herd immunity, and this needs to happen at a fast pace. We at Medanta are channelizing our efforts towards the realization of this goal.”

“In addition to vaccinating citizens within the hospital, Medanta has partnered several corporates, PSUs and RWAs to drive large scale vaccination initiatives. Through this vaccination center in Defence Colony, we now intend to serve the citizens of South Delhi with safe and convenient access to vaccination,” added Mr Pankaj Sahni.

Appreciating the initiative, Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi shared “It is appreciable how Medanta is creating vaccination touchpoints for citizens. Vaccination is the biggest weapon we have as a community against this virus, and it is crucial that more people gain access to it in a timely and safe manner.”
