Tthe youth of India has been experiencing a multitude of lifestyle disorders that are not only affecting their physical health but also taking a toll on their mental health.

According to the data recorded on the MediBuddy platform, an alarming 1 in 5 young adults are dealing with lifestyle disorders. Obesity and Diabetes cases in India have increased exponentially over the last 25 years.

Numbers do not lie but they just tell half the story. Apart from physical health challenges, our country’s youth have even greater battles to conquer. Lifestyle disorders are not just limited to their physical health but have also ambushed their mental and sexual wellbeing.

Experts state that sexual disorders are not common in males before 35 years of age and there are reasonably a smaller number of cases than what is perceived at large. However, over the years, there has been an increase in the number of young men (under 30 years of age) consulting specialist doctors for improving their sexual well-being.

Contrary to popular perception, MediBuddy, India’s largest digital healthcare platform records that Premature Ejaculation & Erectile Dysfunction are a much larger problem faced by young Indian men compared to older men. Over 73% of men who took consultation for sexual related issues on the platform belonged to the age group of 20-30 years.

Psychological causes such as work-related stress and anxiety, concern about sexual performance, marital or relationship problems, depression, feelings of guilt, and the effects of past sexual trauma are sometimes responsible to trigger the issue. Remember, it is essential to have an honest conversation about the sexual issues you are dealing with as facing the issue head-on can lead to a proper diagnosis. Basis your underlying cause, the right treatment and care is provided to the patient, thus helping the patient get better.”

For instance, a 28-year-old man was suffering from erectile dysfunction due to his sedentary lifestyle, lack of exercise, a desk job coupled with smoking and alcohol. He overcame the issue by modifying his lifestyle, diet, workouts and a 15-day medication course by consulting the online doctor at MediBuddy.

In the past, he could not consult a doctor as he came from a small town and was not comfortable to share his health concerns with a doctor, despite his marriage falling apart.

MediBuddy facilitates online consultations across 18 specialities including Pediatrics, Dermatology, Sexology among several others. The seamless consultation process provides a clear diagnosis and an e-prescription. MediBuddy aims to continue providing high-quality healthcare to a billion people across the nation.
