In over a year for the first time, Nagpur city of Maharashtra did not report a single new coronavirus case on Saturday, a health official informed. While one patient tested positive for the infection from Nagpur rural but no fresh case was detected in the city, the official said.
At least 10 patients were discharged from hospitals during the day, while no new casualties were recorded, he said. The official added, with this, the tally of infections in the district stands at 4,92,925, which includes 10,117 deaths and 183 active cases. Nagpur Guardian Minister Nitin Raut appealed to citizens to be careful and praised doctors and the health department for keeping the infections in check.
India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crosses 50.62 Cr
India’s Cumulative COVID Vaccination Coverage has crossed 50.62 crore (50,62,18,296), as per the 7 pm provisional report today. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced on 21st June. More than 50 lakh (50,00,384) Vaccine Doses have been administered today, as per the 7 pm provisional report.
27,55,447 vaccine doses were administered as the first dose and 5,08,616 vaccine doses were given as the second dose in the age group 18-44 years today. Cumulatively, 17,54,73,103 persons in the age group 18-44 years across 37 States/UTs have received their first dose and total 1,18,08,368 have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive. Five states namely Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have administered more than 1 Crore Cumulative Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine in the age group 18-44 years. Also, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Kerala, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have vaccinated more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
As on Day-204 of the vaccination drive (7th August, 2021), total 50,00,384 vaccine doses were given. 36,88,660 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 13,11,724 beneficiaries received 2nd dose of vaccine as per the provisional report till 7 P.M
