National Doctor’s Day 2020 has come at a time when the people are dealing with one of the worst pandemics in decades. To help them, doctors are not only working day in and day out but also risking their lives as they are at great risk of getting infected. On this Doctor’s Day, some of the well-known doctors shared their views.

Dr Ramesh Sarin – Senior Oncologist, Dept of Surgical Oncology, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi: This day, we feel that we have chosen the right profession but in 2020 because of the pandemic, our family and friends are worried about us. Going by the recent prediction, we will have to live with COVID-19 for the next 12 months.
Dr Deepak Sarin – Associate Director of Head and Neck Surgery, Oncology, Medanta Medicity. Gurgaon: COVID-19 pandemic is challenging us in new and different ways every day. We are hearing every day some gut-wrenching news of our colleagues succumbing to coronavirus. While treating COVID-19 patients, we put our as well as our family’s health at risk. I salute all doctors for this bravery and pray for their safety.
Dr Amita Bahl – Senior doctor who has worked with the Ministry of Health, Govt of India: Everyone involved in the cause directly or indirectly is a corona warrior and we salute them.
Dr Arun Prasad – Senior Bariatric and Robotic Surgeon, Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi: This year’s Doctor’s Day has come during one of the biggest medical and humanitarian crisis that the world has ever faced. At this time, many non-COVID patients are feeling ignored but we want to assure them that we are here for them.
Dr Hriday Kumar Chopra – Senior Consultant, Cariology: From My point of view, every doctor is Doctor’s day because every act of doctor is towards the wellbeing of the society. Each letter of doctor has an in-depth meaning.
