The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Post Graduate (NEET-PG) 2024 is expected to be held in mid-August, according to sources on Tuesday. The new date for NEET-PG entrance exam is expected to be announced this week.
On Monday, there was a meeting in the Union Home Ministry where officials from the Health Ministry, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Cyber Cell discussed preparations for the NEET-PG, which will be an online exam.
“Besides the NEET-PG, the meeting was held to evaluate the robustness of the system for the conduct of the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination, which is scheduled for July 6,” a source said.
The purpose of the meeting was to ensure the system is strong enough for conducting the exams smoothly. The officials wanted to make sure everything is ready for the upcoming exams.
During the meeting, top executives from TCS explained the different aspects of the exam procedure.
Earlier, on June 22, the Union health ministry postponed the NEET-PG entrance exam, which was supposed to be held on June 23. This decision was made as a “precautionary measure” due to concerns about the integrity of some competitive exams.
The health ministry announced that it would conduct a thorough review of the NEET-PG processes. This exam is managed by NBEMS with technical support from TCS for medical students.
So, if you are planning to give the NEET-PG exam this year, keep an eye out for the new date announcement this week. The officials are working hard to ensure the exam process is secure and well-prepared.
