Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai Central curated an activity “Paint your Dreams” today for all their doctors. This activity helped the doctors to paint their dreams on a canvas using acrylic paints. It has been scientifically proven, time and time again that making art and performing the creative activities are very beneficial for the brain and mental health.
The paintings were a mix of nature and its vibrant landscape to forests with green foliage. A few painted their thoughts on Freedom, while others focused on the upcoming Independence Day and Ganesh Chaturthi festival. One of the doctors also painted the “T cells” which is the most important white blood cells of the immune system.
According to Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, MD, Wockhardt Hospitals Group, “The last 18 months have been one of the toughest for the clinical fraternity. The doctors have been working nonstop putting their patients on priority before their own self and this activity “Paint Your Dreams” was a gesture from our side to tell them, take a breath and take care of themselves. Doctors need to look after their physical & mental wellbeing as they are our front-liners. We need them to be healthy. Painting itself is very cathartic in many ways, it allows you to express yourself, it also speaks about your emotions, your wellness, your wellbeing and therefore we thought of having a painting activity to give them the opportunity to free their emotions and to feel healed by it. I was surprised and glad to know that we had artists amongst proficient clinicians.”
According to Dr. Rindani, Regional Head at Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central, “Paint your Dreams” initiative at Wockhardt Hospitals, South Mumbai is a unique initiative, it essentially allowed doctors to express their deepest desires. Desires that would have been quelled due to the ongoing pandemic against covid 19 and the fight against covid 19 is something that has stressed-out doctors. We believe that paint your dreams is something that will really destress our doctors and give an opportunity for people to interact and at the same allow people to make their Life Win.
Almost 30 doctors across specialities participated and were touched by this initiative.
