Are our lifestyles to be blamed?
Let’s face facts, in this generation, our priorities are totally different from the earlier ones. Like our eating habits have changed totally, we eat out of packets, party, like there’s no tomorrow and our sleeping habits, have become worse because of Netflix, and much more.
Meanwhile, this pandemic has made the situation worse. During this pandemic, we all have experienced a lot of stress and anxiety throughout, due to a lack of movement and interaction with the outer world.
A study, published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, a journal of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), says that heart attacks in young adults are twice as likely to be fatal in those with inflammatory conditions like psoriasis, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis.
Systemic inflammatory diseases are driven by autoimmunity. In such diseases, body’s immune system attacks itself. Young adults with conditions like psoriasis, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis are twice as likely to experience fatal heart attacks.
“Heart failure is a condition in which a weakened heart is unable to pump the normal amount of blood carrying oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Heart failure cannot be termed as a disease but is a chronic syndrome that generally develops slowly. If the heart failure is mild, it may not significantly affect a person’s lifestyle and day-to-day living. ]The general notion is heart failure means that the heart has stopped working or will eventually stop working. Heart failure was associated with older people, but not anymore. With smoking and drinking beginning at the age of 14, and no commitment to exercise, our society is living in epidemic mode” said, Dr Tilak Suvarna, senior cardiologist at Asian Heart Institute
