Union Minister of State Railways Suresh Angadi passed away in Delhi on Wednesday. He was 65 years old. He tested positive for COVID-19 on September 11.
Earlier this month he was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre in Delhi, and it is said he was initially asymptomatic and was doing fine.
As soon as his swab samples was reported positive for COVID-19, the BJP MP from Belagavi had requested all those who came in close contact with him in the last few days to keep a check on their health and get tested in case of any symptoms.
He is the second member of Parliament from Karnataka to die of Covid-19 after BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Gasti, who passed away last week and Angadi is the first member of the Union Cabinet to succumb to coronavirus.

Suresh Angadi was a four-time Lok Sabha MP from Karnataka’s Belagavi constituency, elected in 2004, 2014, and 2019.
