UP Gets A New Covid-19 Application: Launched By CM Yogi Adityanath For Better Tracking

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a new Covid-19 application on Sunday for better tracking of COVID patients in the state.

CM Yogi Adityanath seemed to be very optimistic while speaking about the Application at the launch event as he said, “Till the time any treatment or vaccine comes for COVID-19, the only way to control the infection is by taking preventive measures. I am told that with this application, people can have several advantages like the COVID call center platform, integration with the Centre’s app among others. I hope people will be benefitted from this new application.”

CM Yogi Adityanath showed his concerns about the old tracking process as there were a number of problems involved in it. “While tracing the pandemic in the state, we faced a number of problems as many patients, whose reports came positive, gave their wrong addresses and wrong contact numbers. Due to this, we faced a lot of problems controlling COVID-19 in the state,” Said he. The new labreports.upcovid19tracks.in app has been launched in this backdrop.

Though the recovery rate in UP has climbed up to 80%, the number of COVID fatality count crossed 5,000 with the death of 94 more patients in the last 24 hours. The situation is  alarming, needs proper monitoring of all the positive cases. Treatments should star as early as possible.

On the positive side, there is a sigh of relief that the number of active cases dropped down to 65,954 after a hit of 68,122 last Sunday.

But the situation remains grim with the increasing number of deaths. Uttar Pradesh is among those 10 states which counted the highest number of cases since the start of the pandemic. Out of which at least four districts – Prayagraj, Varanasi, Meerut, and Gorakhpur have reported the most number of COVID fatalities.

Hence, for the proper management and surveillance of pandemic in the state, the government has launched this new application to seek proper and timely results of the COVID cases to reduce the rising numbers.

The Unified Covid-19 Portal Application will now make things easier for people who were facing problems in contact tracing.

CM Yogi Adityanath said “I have been told that this is an integrated app through which people can receive a lot of facilities, including COVID helpline call center platform, surveillance platform, lab platform, facility platform, integration with the Centre’s application, mobile application, airport traveler platform, and state COVID dashboard,”

“From today, we are providing the facility that an individual can find the test result by entering his/her phone number and then enter the OTP sent to the number. The result can also be downloaded by the individual,” said Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad.
