Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi was penalised Rs 500 after he shared a video of himself riding a motorcycle without a helmet and mask, an official informed on Friday.
The actor was seen not wearing a mask in the video despite knowing that it is mandatory during the COVID-19 outbreak, said, the official of the Santacruz traffic division, which issued the challan to the actor.
He said, the actor had shared the video on Sunday after which action was taken by the metropolis’ police.

Also on Friday, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the Bollywood actor for not wearing a mask after he shared a video of a ride on a motorbike with his wife on Valentine’s Day.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra is witnessing a constant increase in the number of coronavirus cases for which the city administration had warned on Thursday to prosecute those who violate the mandatory mask rule.
The case against the actor was registered at the Juhu Station, said an official. In the video shared by the Saathiya actor on his social media showed him riding a brand-new motorbike without wearing either a mask or a helmet.
The FIR was registered against him under IPC sections 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) along with provisions of the Maharashtra COVID -19 Precautionary Measures 2020 and the Motor Vehicles Act, the official said.
Besides, a fine of Rs 500 was also imposed on him for not wearing a helmet, the official added.
An offender can be punished with upto six months in jail or fine or both under both IPC sections 188 and 269.
However, Maharashtra reported 6,112 new cases, the highest daily count in 84 days in the state. Cases in Mumbai increased to a 78-day high of 823 infections, while Pune district logged 1,005, Amravati 755 and Nagpur 752. The state had recorded 5,427 new cases on Thursday and 4,787 on Wednesday.
Followed by Kerala (15), Punjab (8) and Tamil Nadu (7), Maharashtra reported the highest 44 deaths.
