Chemical peels is a cosmetic treatment that involves using chemicals to exfoliate the skin. The chemical removes the damaged skin cells across the treatment area. When done appropriately, this allows the skin to heal, with minimal scarring or colour changes. Chemical peels can the epidermis and the dermis layers of the skin. It is important to not apply water, soap or make-up to the face until the skin has healed.
