The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently announced CBSE Class 10th and Class 12th results 2020. While it’s time to celebrate for many, this could turn out to be a stressful time for some students and parents. There are some students who are disappointed and feel that they haven’t achieved the grades they had expected.
If, because of some reason, their result is poor or not as expected, these kids might think that they wouldn’t be able to choose the path they had seen themselves on or attend the same school. This thought of being seen as a failure or falling behind can even trigger stress and panic in them.
This is the time when parents should be extra careful because if kids are not comforted right away, these negative feelings or thoughts can cause havoc on their health and mental state.
Therefore it is very important that parents provide emotional comfort to children who feel disappointed with the exam results.
Ms. Kamna Chhibber – Head of Department, Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram – feels parents should create a supportive environment if their kids are feeling distraught or depressed.
Here she has mentioned some do’s and don’ts for parents that will help their children to come out strong from the adverse situation.
