According to Dr. Nupur Gupta, Founder Well Woman Clinic & Director Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute Gurugram, “there can be several reasons of infertility in women. Women who are overweight or obese go through hormonal imbalances which leads to irregular ovulation. This may cause cause infertility among women. Moreover, bad lifestyle habits and diets like consumption of alcohol and lack of physical activities can also alter the ovulation.”
“Emotions play a big role for the infertility among women. If a woman is not comfortable during the intercourse, the body and the hormones will not relax. Stress might affect the release of the eggs. Many pregnancies are affected due to anxiety and stress,” she said.
“Deficiency of vitamin D is one of those unknown factors that has a very important role in hormone regulation. Lack of ‘Happy Hormones’ can disturb your cycles, and can be a reason why you are not able to get pregnant,” she added.

Stress
Stress can be a reason for many health problems, and in women, it can cause irregular periods. Both sperm and an egg are required for conception. If you are not ovulating, you will never get pregnant.
Irregular sleep cycle
Irregular sleep cycle or sleep deprivation impacts both body and mind. Apart from tiredness, hormones that your body releases when you don’t sleep can affect your mental peace, leading to stress.
Other than stress, sleep deprivation can weaken your immune system, which, in turn, can affect the reproductive cycle.
Weight issues
Weight issues among women are the most common reasons for not getting pregnant. A woman who is either underweight or overweight, can face difficulties in conceiving.
