According to recent findings from the World Health Organization (WHO), up to 5 million deaths each year could be prevented if the global population adopted a more active lifestyle. The research indicates that insufficiently active individuals face a 20% to 30% higher risk of mortality compared to those who maintain an active routine. Shockingly, over 80% of the world’s adolescent population is insufficiently physically active, indicating a pressing need for change.

In line with WHO’s “Walk the Talk: Health For All Challenge,” the HEAL Foundation partnered with Health Fitness Trust to host a dynamic event on May 22, 2022. The event, titled “GET MOVING for health,” took place at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, where participants engaged in various activities like Zumba, stretching, clapping, and a 3 KM run. This event marked the launch of the “Health4All Online” weekly show, aimed at promoting health awareness globally.
“Expert Insights on the Connection Between Physical Activity and Health”
During the live show, renowned medical experts shared valuable insights into the detrimental effects of a sedentary lifestyle and its impact on mental stress and overall health. Dr. A K Jhingan, Chairman of Delhi Diabetes Research Centre, highlighted the “7S (7 Sins)” linked to the onset of diabetes, including stress, lack of sleep, a sedentary lifestyle, excessive sugar, salt, smoking, and alcohol consumption. These factors not only lead to diabetes but also contribute to conditions like blood pressure and hypertension.
“Free Health Screening Camp Empowers Preventive Healthcare”
To further promote preventive healthcare, a free Health Screening camp with a unique Health ATM was set up at the event. Powered by HEAL Foundation in collaboration with U GRO Capital, the Health Pod offered screening for 22+ vital health parameters, including blood pressure, weight, SpO2, BMI, pulse, temperature, and ECG. This innovative, self-service Health Pod delivers instant reports without the need for paramedic assistance, streamlining the process of health check-ups.

Eminent International Athlete & Marathoner, Dr. Sunita Godara, founder of Health Fitness Trust, inspired the audience with her commitment to diverse physical activities.
