More than 75 lakh people to benefit from the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a new scheme aimed at providing cashless medical facilities to more than 75 lakh people, including 22 lakh state government employees, pensioners, and their dependents. The scheme, called the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme, will allow eligible individuals to receive cashless medical treatment at government-run institutions, medical colleges, and hospitals without any financial limit. Additionally, hospitals em-panelled under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme will provide cashless medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh. The initiative aims to ensure affordable and accessible healthcare for the state’s employees and their families.
State Health Card to be provided to eligible employees and pensioners for easy access to medical treatment
The launch of the scheme took place at an event, where Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the importance of providing quality healthcare to government employees. He announced that eligible individuals would be issued a State Health Card, enabling them to avail themselves of cashless medical treatment in government or empanelled hospitals. Adityanath urged the concerned authorities to develop an action plan that would enable the eligible beneficiaries to download their State Health Card independently, facilitating easy access to medical services.
Cashless medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh available under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme
Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, commonly known as the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the government is providing medical insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh to economically disadvantaged families. Chief Minister Adityanath highlighted that the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana offers medical insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh to the poorest of the poor in the state. Furthermore, registered workers of the Construction Workers Welfare Board are also eligible for a medical insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government had previously directed the relevant department to develop an action plan for providing cashless medical facilities to state government employees. With the launch of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme, Uttar Pradesh aims to ensure that its employees and their dependents have access to quality healthcare services without financial burden.
