In order to increase transparency and to facilitate the public at the time of coronavirus pandemic, all major hospitals in Delhi will now be required to display the availability of beds (COVID & non-COVID) on LED boards at their entrances, along with charges and details of the people to be contacted.
“In order to increase transparency and to facilitate public, all major Hospital/Clinics/Nursing Homes of Delhi should be directed to display on LED Board in large letters outside their establishments, at the entry point itself, the availability of beds. (both COVID & non-COVID, wherever applicable), along with charges including for rooms/beds and details of contact persons for admission,” reads the order issued by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
In order to ensure that correct data is displayed by Hospital/Clinics/Nursing Home, a periodic surprise check may be conducted by the officers deputed by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi government has issued an order stating that 22 private hospitals will allocate more than 20 per cent beds for treatment of coronavirus patients. With this capacity of these 22 hospitals is now up to 3456 from 1441.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has already announced that only Delhiites will be treated in private and government-run hospitals in the national capital. However, he said there will be no such restriction for hospitals run by the Centre and patients from other states come to Delhi for specific surgeries, they can get medical treatment at private hospitals.
The announcement was made a day after a five-member panel constituted by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government suggested that the health infrastructure of the city should be used only for treating people of Delhi in view of the COVID-19 outbreak.
